The Chief Executive Officer, under the direction of the Board of Trustees, provides leadership, development of strategies, organizational and financial oversight, and supervises all programs, projects, and administrative activities of NACUFS. Working with paid staff and numerous volunteers, the Chief Executive Officer also provides administrative support, guidance, and ongoing communication to members of NACUFS Board of Trustees, association, committees, and staff.
This position is based full-time in historic East Lansing, Michigan. The position requires significant travel (30%) as it is expected to meet with members, attend industry conferences, chapter meetings, or other events as deemed appropriate and valuable to NACUFS.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an adaptive and innovative leader, with a minimum of 7 years demonstrated executive leadership experience at a national or global nonprofit association. Additionally, hospitality and food service experience would be a huge plus.
- Possess a demonstrated track record of success and proven management and financial business acumen within an organization of similar or larger scale and complexity.
- Present effectively and has the ability to engage various audiences.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in business or other pertinent degrees; however, a master’s degree is strongly preferred in business, communication, hospitality management or related field. • Acquired a Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation or will become certified within 5 years of hire date.
