Reporting to the General Manager, this position assists in the daily operation and oversight of our 750 seat dining hall. University of New Hampshire takes pride in our award winning dining program. In total, we employ over 250 staff and 800 student employees who work together to serve 3.25million meals per year. Focus on the highest level of customer service.
Ability to work independently, determining direction in managing a diverse workforce. Attention to quality assurance of offerings and engage in culinary direction of program. Ensure safety/sanitation standard compliance. Assist in recruitment and retention activities, training, development and on-boarding of associates. Assist General Manager in achieving budgetary requirements.
Associates Degree and Five years of Hospitality Experience in food service industry or related industry. Or a combination of education and experience to equal five years.

Strong communication(verbal, written, interpersonal) skills and an ability to communicate effectively
Proficiency in word, outlook, excel, BOX
Recruitment and development of new and existing staff
Organize, schedule, and supervise daily meal service staff. Monitor associates’ use of equipment, and efficiency in service. Ensure products are of the highest quality and appeal. Maintain cleaning and housekeeping activities to the highest sanitation and safety standards. Support various culinary/operational functions as needed.
Receive regular direction/coaching from General Manager regarding business priorities and participate in Dining management meetings and other related functions. Direct/communicates program changes, activities, and daily challenges to all shift supervisors and associates
Independently manage, coach, and discipline full time and student employees. Establish student schedule and overtime standards. Interview, select, hire and schedule students according to business and budget needs. Ensure that proper new hire and orientation paperwork is complete.
Develop and supervise a high-performing team that provides outstanding customer service. Directs supervisors to ensure standards are met. Conduct/participate in weekly team meetings. Evaluate performance of direct reports on a regular and annual basis.
Manage daily and weekly labor hours as well as food cost/waste to meet budget requirements
