Purpose

The Dining Administrative Manager will support the Assistant Vice President and the dining leadership team within University Housing and Dining (UHD) in project management, administrative tasks, and operational oversight. This role requires a proactive approach to understanding the needs of dining services and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Assistant Vice President of Dining Services and dining leadership team with project management tasks. Gather and understand the needs of dining services to efficiently coordinate administrative functions across dining units. Work collaboratively with stakeholders such as Business Services, Human Resources, and Marketing. Serve as an informed liaison between dining services and stakeholders, and leading initiatives (scope, demos, feedback, etc.).

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Assistant Vice President of Dining Services and oversee dining administrative support team. Prepare, compile and disseminate reports as needed. Organize logistics for staff events and meetings, including but not limited to scheduling, reserving rooms, sending invitations, and food arrangements for team days and supervisor meetings. Collaborate with teams to fulfill the vision of leadership, coordinating content for agendas provided. Ensure administrative collaboration, consistency, and use of systems, processes and documents across various dining units. Hire, train, and evaluate administrative support staff.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for dining interview teams. Ensure dining staff members are available for interview timeslots and job fairs.  Oversee team members conducting interviews to ensure processes are followed according to university and UHD guidelines.  Actively learn and apply operational requirements to interviews and select top talent. Work with UHD Human Resources to set timelines ensuring accurate and timely updates for job postings and hiring priorities. Coordinate documentation submission to UHD HR. Maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality of information.

  • Regularly engage with dining leadership and management teams to understand the units and department goals. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dining units and their operational needs. Leverage food service and hospitality expertise, along with operational knowledge, to support the needs of dining operations. 

  • Collaborate with staff on the new employee experience upon completion of HR requirements, tasks, and training. Work with stakeholders to continuously evolve and support the needs of dining services' new employee experience.
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years management experience within a large organization.

  • Ability to complete and maintain University Housing and Dining Food Safety Training and or ServSafe.

 

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with administrative management within a dining or hospitality environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

  • Experience supervising staff.  

  • Experience participating in and/or conducting interviews.

  • Experience with project management.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Salary Range

$65,000 + depending on qualifications

 

Working Conditions

Work Shift

  • Monday- Friday, 8:00AM- 5:00PM.  Hours and days may vary to include nights and weekends due to business needs.
