        Job Summary:

        The Wisconsin Union Dining Support Services Manager will supervise our dining warehouse & distribution team and manage our voluntary meal plan, dining mobile app, and dining digital menu boards. This position will play a key role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of our warehouse and distribution's inventory, digital display boards, mobile ordering and voluntary meal plan programs. The Union currently uses FoodPro menu management software and Transact Mobile ordering software. The successful person in this role will be comfortable using data management and food service management systems, have experience supervising staff, and understand the daily demands of a busy warehouse and campus wide distribution.

        Responsibilities:

        Provides guidance for food service operations in environments such as dining, retail, and/or catering venues, including financial and long term operational planning to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve food service goals.
        • 30% Provides operational guidance for food service activities, identifies, develops, facilitates staff training opportunities, and/or supervises dining staff
        • 20% Plans and directs staff implementation of operating policies and procedures to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures
        • 5% Monitors the unit budget and approves expenditures
        • 15% Tracks and forecasts inventory levels and places replenishment orders
        • 5% Directs and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
        • 5% Develops staff resources, menus, and communication plans based on established goals
        • 20% Serves as the dining liaison in the development, implementation and maintenance of Wisconsin Union Dining's voluntary meal plan program, mobile ordering app, and digital menu boards to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

        Additional Information:

        The Wisconsin Union operates from several buildings on the UW-Madison campus including Memorial Union, Union South, Fluno Center, Pyle Center, University Club, Red Gym, and the Student Activity Center. The Wisconsin Union is a financially self-supporting division of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Financial support for the organization is provided by income earned by over thirty food service units and a variety of nonfood units such as games, guest rooms, space rentals and campus vending. Substantial support is also provided by student fees. The total annual organizational budget is approximately $60 million dollars.
