Job Description

Assists in the supervision and day to day operations of Squires Food Court, including Burger ’37, Au Bon Pain, and Viva Market under the direction of the assistant director. Responsibilities include assisting with food procurement, staff relations, safety and sanitation, and the maintenance of building and equipment. Responsible for the creation and execution of menu plan including Burger ’37 and Viva Market menu items. Assist in the supervision of employees to ensure all policies and procedures are followed at all times. Ensures a high level of customer service. Assist with food production to ensure recipes and food production are of the highest standards. Assists with the procurement of goods and administration of automated food inventory systems (FoodPro). Creates performance plans and completes performance evaluations for direct reports. Responsible for any other duties as assigned by assistant director.

Required Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of commercial kitchens and food service operations including food preparation and recipe creation. Supervision and management experience in a high volume food service establishment. Demonstrated knowledge of computers including Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and automated food inventory systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited culinary program with a minimum of an AOS degree and/or equivalent experience. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and public. Excellent customer service skills, ability to multitask by handling assignments at the same time. ServeSafe and HACCP certification. Eligibility of Certified Chef de Cuisine (C.C.C.) or Certified Sous Chef (C.S.C.) through American Chef Federation (ACF). Certified nutrition, sanitation, hospitality management, culinary training and/or baking training.
