- The General Manager will oversee Case Dining Hall and Murphy Center to meet student and athletics needs and is responsible for the strategic planning, analysis, and financial stewardship of those locations operated by NC State Dining. This includes overall leadership, coordination, and planning of the assigned units, and be an entrepreneurial manager and change agent who is dedicated to supporting the ongoing development of the NC State Dining department and its culinary services.
The person in this position must be committed philosophically and operationally, to delivering high quality services in an efficient manner, while being sensitive to the service needs of NC State University.
This position leads other supervisors in the planning, organization and implementation of the daily production and service operations for the assigned facilities. The day to day management will be achieved by the team of supervisory staff. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring sufficient staff for operational needs by hiring, training and developing staff for the dining halls. Provide administrative supervision of all dietary activities, including planning and establishment of menus, preparing and reviewing budgets, procurement of all equipment. Other duties include oversight of equipment repairs and purchases, standardization of daily operations and coordination of all feeding requirements of the students using these dining halls.
This position is responsible for employees working a variety of shifts covering seven days per week, 16 hours per day for Case Dining Hall and 6 hours per day for Murphy Center. This position is responsible for hiring, training, performance appraisals for SHRA permanent and temporary employees.

Understand the goals and culture of the organization, and understand how employees’ work activities, teamwork, and customer service impact clients. Work with your supervisor and colleagues to understand these goals and the culture.
Adhere to all University policies, procedures, and regulations, and Division standard operating practices and protocols.
Due to operational needs of the NC State Dining department, an employee may be assigned to work in any NC State Dining department including, but not limited to, catering and special events.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure NC State Dining business needs are met.
