Follows established protocols for sensitive issues and emergencies.
Plans and executes events which align with admissions/enrollment goals.
Implements strategies to provide a positive experience to prospective students, parents, and families.
Establishes and builds positive relationships with students through a proactive service approach, events, and programs.
Builds positive experiences and relationships with interns and/or mentors and those providing these experiences.
Supports students, clubs, and organizations as well as student initiatives.
Encourage students to include the skills they've gained through their student experience with dining services during interviews and when evaluating personal success goals.
Displays inclusive behavior by welcoming ideas and developing programs/menus for all students and customers.
Supports student health and wellness needs through programs, menus, and individual assistance.
Collaborates with campus partners on programs and initiatives (e.g., student life, sustainability, food insecurity, admissions).
Implements initiatives that leverage strategic partnerships (e.g., local purchasing).
Develops and manages operational plans that support the strategic plan.
Provides dining expertise to and support for campus initiatives.
Develops and guides the brand management strategy and standards, ensuring brand fits with the institutional vision, mission, and culture.
Establishes goals and develops the department marketing plan with emphasis on incremental benefits of initiatives, including participation levels and sales growth.
Reviews and approves marketing and branding budgets and proposals for new initiatives; seeks expertise from campus marketing resources.
Ensures marketing is consistent with university standards.
Uses data/feedback as the basis for decision making (e.g., internal and external market research, including merchandising, advertising, promotions).
Leverages university strategic communications expertise and guidance where appropriate.
Establishes relationships with external constituents (e.g., media/trade journals, town/gown) to promote campus dining.
Identifies and/or develops opportunities to establish partnerships and increase interaction with community stakeholders.
Searches for opportunities to promote campus dining through awards and recognition.
Establishes protocols for addressing sensitive issues and emergencies.
Meets with admissions/enrollment to develop programming which aligns with their goals.
Develops strategies to provide a welcoming environment to prospective students, parents, and families.
Sets clear expectations and develops strategies to provide a welcoming environment to students and guests that facilitates community building and positive relationships.
Promotes a climate of support and mentorship.
Provides guidance and opportunities for collaboration with students, clubs, and organizations in their advocacy efforts/interests.
Stresses and communicates the links between skills gained through employment, internships, leadership roles, and projects and students' career goals.
