The Financial Management Workshop is a NACUFS workshop for anyone looking to advance their skills in financial management of collegiate dining operations.

Registration Fees

Member: $625

Non-Member: $995 

In-person workshop participation including access to NACUFS Learn for access to program files. Breakfast, lunch, breaks and Wednesday night networking reception are also included in the registration fee.

Note: Attendees can register for only one of these workshops as the programming overlaps on November 13. However, participants from both workshops will join together for shared meals and networking opportunities on that day.  

Cancellations will allow a refund, less an administrative fee of $50 through October 17, 2025. After October 17, there will be no refunds for cancellations.

Attendees who complete the workshop will achieve the following outcomes:  
  • Take your financial acumen to the next level 

  • Grow your skills in-person, capitalizing on opportunities for networking and in-depth sharing 

  • Learn how to share your operation’s financial status with your team and with university administration 

  • Design dining plans to optimize revenue 

  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue and reduce expenses 

  • Plan financially for things like equipment replacement and renovations 

  • Write a cost/benefit analysis using information from the InSights Operating Ratios Study by NACUFS 

  • Create a plan to train your staff to use financial data in their own decision making  

  • Grow your skills in understanding and creating reports and dashboards

 Rich Neumann, M.S., FMP

Rich is the author of Financial Management for Foodservice. Rich is semi-retired and has worked in the College and University Foodservice industry for 42 years and has 34 years of experience as an adjunct Hospitality Instructor. He served as director of Culinary Services at Ohio University for over 16 years.
