NACUFS has contests aimed to help member institutions highlight successful wellness promotions and outstanding recipes. Contests are open to all NACUFS institutional members.

This annual contest recognizes colleges and universities that have implemented a unique and effective wellness or nutrition program during the previous year.
The 2020 Most Innovative Wellness & Nutrition Program award winners are:
Gold: University of Maryland
Silver: Westfield State University
Bronze: California Polytechnic State University
This biennial contest recognizes and encourages the use of locally produced foods in the menus of NACUFS member institutions by showcasing the efforts of members who use locally produced ingredients. This contest will run again in 2021.
This biennial contest recognizes institutions that meet the dietary needs of particular populations and incorporate healthful alternative foods on their menus.
