Catering Events Assistant Manager

Commons Catering

Plans and supervises catered events including weddings to ensure high level of customer satisfaction; hires, orients, trains, directs and supervises student catering staff; maintains sanitation and safety standards; maintains inventory controls; and recommends menu changes. Frequent night and weekend work necessary.

Bachelor’s degree in institutional, hotel or restaurant management, dietetics, business management or related field plus at least one year of dining, catering or retail food service experience required. Culinary degree plus at least four years of dining, catering or retail food service experience may be substituted. Event planning, supervision of large catering events, and employee supervisory experience preferred. ServSafe Alcohol certified trainer and experience with employee scheduling and food management software also preferred.
