Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Food & Beverage Services, reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Business Services, is responsible for management and oversight of UF’s food and beverage services program including food services, beverage/pouring rights, and snack vending, all of which are contracted services. The Director is responsible for visioning, providing leadership, and working collaboratively with business partners to create and maintain high levels of excellence in the dining experience for students and the university community. The Director serves as part of a team of professionals in Business Services who are responsible for management and oversight of business and service units that provide essential services to students and the UF community.

The director provides oversight for daily operations and quality control, including excellence in customer service, food quality, menu management, facility maintenance and upkeep, and program initiatives such as sustainability and local food sourcing. The Director monitors key performance indicators and ensures program alignment with UF’s vision, expectations, and priorities. The Director will participate in financial forecasting and budgeting, monitor financial performance, make market price comparisons, and ensure value for UF students.

The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge and experience in food services operations as well as a proven track record of success in food services in a higher education setting.

Required Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience
