The ED will have executive leadership and day-to-day management of Berkeley’s strategic planning and budget administration, setting operational policy, resource management, quality, customer service, and facilities supervision over a broad and diverse set of initiatives related to the delivery of dining services
on the UCB campus.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Residential and Student Service Programs (RSSP), the ED has overall responsibility for managing the Cal Dining program, which is part of the $160M RSSP portfolio in the Division of Student Affairs. The ED is responsible for the strategic planning and budget administration, setting operational policy, resource management, quality, customer service, and facilities supervision over a broad and diverse set of initiatives related to the delivery of dining services on the UCB campus. The ED leads a team of approximately 325, overseeing all aspects of the Cal Dining operations that includes four residential dining halls serving over 40,000 students, multiple campus retail operations, and providing food services to Intercollegiate Athletics, the Early Childhood Education Program, and other campus entities. The ED will be an individual with demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and senior-level experience in a comparably complex setting, with advanced knowledge in food service operations and sanitation regulations. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience/training. A minimum of 10 years of leadership/progressive management experience is necessary, preferably in food service industry or university auxiliary service unit. Strong management skills, operations background, outstanding communication within all levels of the organization, and excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are essential.
