The 2010 pre-conference workshops will offer opportunities to spend concentrated time hearing the latest trends, sharing best practices, and networking with other college and university foodservice professionals on topics of relevance.  Fast forward your learning by making plans now to join us for one of these exciting events:

1) Neighborhood Market Retail Workshop.  Returning for another year, this popular pre-conference workshop will provide current information regarding retail merchandising trends in the collegiate setting.  Also featured in this workshop is the C-Store “Best in the Business” award ceremony and panel presentation.  Watch a virtual tour of the award winning retail operations and hear from these C-store pioneers.

2) Sustainability “Road Trip” and Workshop. New in 2010 and appropriate for the location, this pre-conference program includes a full-day “road trip” to visit a local college and farm-to-campus program that is at the forefront of sustainability in the San Jose area, as well as another half-day of indoor classroom learning, featuring speakers and panel presentations.

Tuesday, July 6  
7:45 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. Sustainability “Road Trip” and Workshop, including breakfast-to-go, offsite tours and presentations, lunch and "Dinner in the Fields." Bus will depart the Fairmont at 8:00 a.m. and return between 8:00 and 8:30 p.m.
1:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Neighborhood Market Retail Workshop, including afternoon presentations and evening reception
Wednesday, July 7  
7:30 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. Combined Breakfast & Vendor Display for both pre-conference groups
8:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Neighborhood Market Retail Workshop, continued (Including Best in the Business Awards)

8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing and sent to Trish Collier at NACUFS or tcollier@nacufs.org. Full conference cancellations received by May 28, 2010, will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee.  Full conference cancellations received between May 29 and July 6, 2010 will be refunded at 50 percent.  Cancellations for a pre-confrence event only (but still attending the national conference) will be handled on a case-by-case basis. There will be no refunds for no-shows or cancellations after the pre-conference begins.  NACUFS reserves the right to cancel any of these programs at any time.
