Each year, NACUFS gives out several National Recognition Awards. Click on the awards below to view the criteria, eligibility, and past winners for each award. The deadline for 2011 nominations is January 31, 2011.
- Theodore W. Minah Distinguished Service Award - NACUFS' most prestigious honor. Selection is based on outstanding and enduring contribution to the foodservice industry and to the association. Nomination forms are available to members in the fall. The winner is selected by the board of directors and the council of past presidents.
- The Distinguished Lifetime Member Award - This award is for retired members who have been actively involved in NACUFS and the betterment of college and university foodservices for a minimum of 15 years. Nomination forms are available to members in the fall. Recipients are selected by the board of directors. Distinguished lifetime membership is honorary and holds no voting rights. Recipients are not eligible to hold elected office but may be appointed to committees and serve as chair. Membership dues and conference registration fees are waived.
- The Daryl Van Hook Industry Award - This award is presented to a deserving industry member based on outstanding contributions to NACUFS. Nomination forms are available to members in the fall. The winner is selected by the board of directors. The name of the recipient is kept confidential until the National Conference.
- The Richard Lichtenfelt Award - This award is named after the association’s first president, Richard Lichtenfelt, who served from 1958 to 1960. The award recognizes outstanding service to NACUFS on a national level.
