Member Profile: Lisa Krausman

From an early age, Lisa Krausman has had a focus on health and wellness. “When I was younger, I was pretty set on being a nurse,” comments Lisa. “As I moved through high school, I found myself still interested in health, and more specifically in nutrition. Therefore, dietetics and food service just seemed to be a natural fit.”
During a campus visit to what would be her alma mater, the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), Lisa had a serendipitous meeting with a professor in the dietetics department that led her to sign up for a management trainee program with campus dining services. “The management program was a great experience. I worked through multiple locations and positions,” says Lisa. She continued her involvement with collegiate foodservice the summer after her sophomore year at UNI, when she participated in the NACUFS Foodservice Management Internship program at Colorado State, marking the beginning of her extensive involvement with the association over the last 12 years. At a time when many students struggled with choosing a major and career path, Lisa began blazing her trail as a rising star in collegiate foodservice.
