ARAMARK LAUNCHES COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM ARAMARK has launched a program, ARAMARK Building Community Program, to engage its employees in projects to improve their local communities. ARAMARK has partnered with City Year, one of the world’s leading organizations in engaging citizens in service in their communities, to create significantly useful volunteer service days. The program will visit community centers in 30 cities to build long-term relationships with vital local resources. ARAMARK will dedicate more than $5 million in cash grants, volunteer hours, and product donations over the next three years to address each center’s needs. Approximately 200 ARAMARK employee volunteers—including hundreds of food and beverage service employees—in each city will leave their desks to participate in a day of volunteer service to refurbish community centers in major metropolitan areas, including Los Angeles, Detroit, Boston, San Francisco, and Houston. Employee volunteers will work on service projects such as painting, construction, shelving, landscaping, and creating murals. Additionally, the ARAMARK Building Community program will tap the company’s professional expertise to help youth and adults build critical work skills and connect them to career opportunities; support families with nutrition and wellness education; provide basic needs such as food and clothing; and help its partners run cleaner, safer, and more efficient facilities.
