Restaurants & Institutions Magazine Appoints Scott Hume as Editor-In-Chief

Restaurants & Institutions magazine (www.rimag.com) recently named Scott Hume as its Editor in Chief. In that role, he succeeds Patricia B. Dailey, who recently was promoted to publisher of R&I and Chain Leader magazines. She continues as editorial director for both publications.

Hume first joined R&I in 1978 as a proofreader and was senior editor/copy editor when he left the magazine in 1983 to join Advertising Age magazine.  He returned to R&I as Managing Editor in 1999 and was named Executive Managing Editor in 2003 and Executive Editor earlier this year.

“Scott is the ideal person to help guide R&I on its future path, allowing us to maintain editorial excellence in print as we continue to carve out an ever stronger presence in electronic and in-person offerings,” said Patricia B. Dailey, publisher of R&I and Chain Leader.

Other recent changes within the R&I team include: Ray Herrmann named Associate Publisher and Director of Sales for R&I and Chain Leader; Craig Coale, national sales director for R&I and Chain Leader, accepted a new opportunity with Reed Business Information’s (RBI) Building & Construction Group; Gerald J. White has left RBI to pursue other opportunities.
