Expands Dining Options for WVU Students Renovations to West Virginia University’s Hatfield’s restaurant in the Mountainlair are complete, and students should be delighted with the new concepts that have been created. “Hatfields was too one dimensional and lacked excitement,” said David Friend, director of dining services at WVU. “We felt that by creating more choices and a more contemporary look, we would be catering more to the tastes of our students.” The concepts are quite a change from the old, cafeteria-like presence of pre-renovation Hatfields. The single serving line was replaced with three new concepts and an expansive salad bar with pre-packaged to-go items was added. “At the Corner Deli there are wraps and paninis made-to-order from a wide array of ingredients; at Traditions students can find comfort-foods, as well as the daily items from our award winning Healthy “U” program; and at Chef Express, there are daily specials prepared on the spot,” continued Friend. Together with last year's opening of Burger King and Eliza's Cafe, options
at WVU are continuing to expand. All dining plans now include the exchange
options at Brew N' Gold, McCoy's, Hatfields and Burger King for selected
meals. The addition of meals plus dollars on meal plans permit WVU students
to eat at nine retail locations and six residential dining operations
on campus. |
